COME SEE IAMT & NYC

TOUR OUR CAMPUS

Prospective students and their families are welcome year-round for a campus tour. We'll show you all the studio spaces as well as our theatre, student lounge and roof deck. You'll have plenty of time to ask any questions about the program, curriculum, faculty, student life, the neighborhood, or anything else that comes to mind! Tours are usually scheduled with just one family at a time, though it's possible that occasionally some families might book the same time and there's only one guide available.

THere's no better way to get to know what we do at IMAT than to see it first-hand.

You can use the form at the bottom of this page to request a tour. If you're interested in seeing classes, visits must be between 9 and 4 on weekdays and scheduled in advance. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate drop-in visits.

NEIGHBORHOOD

Located in the heart of Washington Heights at the intersection of 160th Street and Broadway, IAMT enjoys a prime location with a variety of amenities nearby.

Located directly next to IAMT is VIM pharmacy which can fill almost any prescription and across the street is the brand new Signature Physical Therapy. Just 5 blocks north is Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and a Minute Clinic. With a variety of restaurants, coffee shops and fast food options, a local deli offering an IAMT discount and grocery stores all within a 2-3 block radius of IAMT, your culinary needs are more than covered.

Public transit makes for easy access from the rest of Manhattan. The 1 train is located 2 blocks south at the 157th street stop and is a 20-minute ride into midtown. We are also located 3 blocks over from the C train at 163rd street.

VISITING NEW YORK CITY

If you're going to visit us, hopefully you'll have enough time to see the city and catch a show! We've collected some information here for out-of-town guests to help you dive even deeper into Broadway!

Broadwayworld.com has a short history of Broadway, including what actually qualifies as a "Broadway" theatre. Wikipedia also has a longer and more detailed history if you can't get enough.

If you're curious about "off-Broadway," Playbill has a short article explaining the differences between Broadway, off-Broadway, and off-off-Broadway.

Playbill also organizes a collection of what's playing on Broadway and what's what's playing off-Broadway. You can find links to summaries and reviews on those pages, too.

Finally, Vulture has 10 tips to try to make Broadway tickets as affordable as possible.
